About China Water Funds Partnership

China Water Fund was jointly initiated by TNC, Alibaba Foundation, Minsheng TH Foundation since 2014, established as platform comprising charitable trust and implementing entity. It supports the implementation of watershed resilience–oriented NbS projects and serves as a beneficiary-pays and co-governance mechanism aligned with market-oriented and diversified eco-compensation policies.

2014 – Established China first-ever Shanshui Water Fund-with Qingshan Village of Zhejiang.
2018 – Launched Qiandao Lake Water Fund, strategic source water of Yangtze River Delta Region.
2024 – Shifting philanthropy dependency to ESG investment, expanding to Yangtze River Delta.
2025 – Water Fund Program/Resilient Watershed Strategy transitioned as independent organization.

By integrating on-site projects under the China Water Funds Partnership, we have become a regionally influential platform supporting watershed stewardship practice, advisory, and research for corporates, governments, and NGOs. Huku Company and Qingshan Centre are registered in Hangzhou(in Blue rectangle below ), serve as two project implementing entities, structured respectively as a limited liability company and NGO( 民办非企业单位).
